Great Wolf Resorts Water Park Coming To NorCal This Summer
The national chain of resorts and indoor water parks will open its first Northern California location in August 2020.
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA — Just in time for the hottest stretch of the coming summer, a national water park-resort chain will be opening its first location in Northern California. Great Wolf Resorts, a Chicago-based company with 18 other locations across the U.S., announced Tuesday it will open a new resort in Manteca on Aug. 1.
The expansive resort will include 500 rooms, a 45,000-square-foot indoor adventure park, and, of course, at 95,000-square-foot indoor water park, suited to all ages, the company says. Other amenities include bowling, mini golf and an arcade.
For kids, daily free activities will include yoga classes, crafts, science experiments and a storytelling session to close out the day.

The park will sit on a 29-acre lot off Highway 120 in Manteca, west of the Interstate 5 interchange. The resort will serve Northern California communities including the Bay Area, Sacramento, Modesto and Stockton, Great Wolf said in a press release.
Plans for the resort were first announced in 2018, with the opening date revealed on Tuesday.

“We’re excited to bring our latest and greatest attractions, dining and entertainment offerings to this new resort so that families who may have visited our other resorts will discover new surprises at Great Wolf Lodge Northern California when we open this summer," said Great Wolf CEO Murray Hennessy in a statement.
Overnight passes, which include access to the water park and other entertainment, will be sold starting at $199.99 per night.
