Man's Body Found At Bottom Of Cliff Near Fort Bragg Beach

Firefighters assisted in recovering the body from the rocks near the ocean waterline.

MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA — The body of a man was found Saturday morning on the rocks at the bottom of a steep cliff near Fort Bragg Beach after a 70-foot fall, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were dispatched about 8:30 a.m. to the scene near the 31000 block of Bay View Avenue.

The victim was identified as a 37-year-old man from Yukon, Okla., the Sheriff's Office said. His name was withheld pending notification of his family.

Fort Bragg firefighters assisted in recovering the body from the rocks near the ocean waterline.

An investigation didn't reveal any suspicious circumstances at the scene and criminal conduct is not suspected, the Sheriff's Office said.

The official cause and manner of death will be determined after an autopsy, it said.
