Plan To Pay More For Clothes, Electronics As Prices Spike: Report
Post-holiday price hikes are underway, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Shoppers should plan for a spike in post-holiday prices, with increase percentages in the high single digits for some products due in part to tariffs, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Many companies kept prices steady or cut them to draw customers during the holiday season, but price increases were stronger than usual last month for electronics and appliances, the newspaper reported, citing economist Alan Detmeister of UBS.
Companies raising prices include Levi Strauss, which now charges $10 more for its ribcage straight ankle women’s jean at $108, and Columbia Sportswear, which is hiking prices for spring and fall items by an average high single-digit percent, according to the Journal.
