Rare Pink Moon Rises Over CA's Easter Weekend: When To Watch
The "pink moon" was set to rise over the Golden State during the holiday weekend, following the bloom of pink wildflowers in North America.
CALIFORNIA — As many Californians gather to celebrate a handful of holidays this weekend, residents can also look to the skies for a particularly bright spectacle — the "Pink Moon."
Saturday's full moon will shine bright over those celebrating Easter, Passover, Ramadan and other spring celebrations in the Golden State this weekend.
The moon itself will actually glow orange, not pink. This April's full moon is commonly referred to as the Pink Moon, named by Native Americans after the bloom of pink wildflowers around this time of year in North America, Travel and Leisure reported.
