Several Wildfires Growing Around California
Wildfire season appears to have arrived in California, with several growing blazes in various parts of the state as of Wednesday.
CALIFORNIA — Wildfire season appears to have arrived in California, with several growing blazes in various parts of the state as of Wednesday afternoon.
The largest is in Calaveras County, where the Walker Fire near Copperopolis has reached 1,100 acres with just 10 percent containment as of Wednesday morning, according to Cal Fire.

Meanwhile, in Butte County, a new blaze known as the Nelson Fire reached 30 acres with no containment Wednesday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders for some nearby residents.

Meanwhile, along the Central Coast, the Avila Fire in San Luis Obispo has scorched 400 acres with 50 percent containment as of the most recent update Tuesday.
Dry, hot weather along with gusty winds prompted Cal Fire to issue a Red Flag warning starting Wednesday through Thursday afternoon through for the Central Valley.
