'Stranger Things' Actor Heaton Had Cocaine In Luggage: Official

Charlie Heaton plays Jonathan Byers in Netflix's popular series, "Stranger Things." Season two was released Friday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Charlie Heaton, known best for his role as Jonathan Byers in Netflix's popular series, "Stranger Things," was denied entry into the U.S. last week after trace amounts of cocaine were found in his luggage when he arrived in Los Angeles, a law enforcement official said. A customs dog sniffed Heaton's luggage when he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport a week ago, the official said Friday. Officers found a small amount of cocaine.

Heaton, a British citizen, was refused entry into the U.S. at the airport and returned to London, the official said. Heaton wasn't arrested and no charges were filed.

The official couldn't discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
