60th Conejo Valley Days Seeks Sponsors and Exhibitors

Sponsor and exhibitor packets are now available for the 60th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) being held May 11 through 15 at Conejo Creek.

Sponsor and exhibitor packets are now available for the 60th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) being held May 11 through 15 at Conejo Creek Park South (Janss Rd./23 Freeway) in Thousand Oaks. Food concessions are already sold out for the event.

Sponsorship opportunities range from onsite banners to title sponsor. Local businesses and craftspeople can participate in CVD as exhibitors. This year, exhibitors will be housed in an approximately 75’ by 100’ exhibitors’ tent. A separate home décor and landscaping tent it also in the works.

Booth exhibitors are required to decorate their booths in a western theme and wear western attire. “Many people who live in the Conejo Valley aren’t aware of the valley’s country heritage so it’s important to keep Conejo Valley Days’ western traditions alive. It gets everyone in the spirit,” says Mary-Catherine McBride, CVD’s executive director.

For the third year, RCS will be providing the carnival rides and game booths. RCS is one of the top carnival operators in the southwest United States (Coachella Music Festival, Orange County Fair, Los Angeles County Fair). “RCS is bringing its state-of-the-art rides and its easy-to-win midway games,” says McBride. “RCS’ philosophy is that visitors should all leave the festival with arms full of prizes.”

The expanded five-day event features entertainment for kids, teens and the whole family including live music, motocross freestyle exhibitions, outhouse races and displays by the Chumash Indian Museum and other historical sites. Live entertainment and hands-on exhibits are included with general admission. “We’ll be celebrating our 60th anniversary with a CVD Scavenger Hunt around the Conejo Valley. Details will be announced soon,” says McBride.

Over 25 local nonprofit groups participate in CVD each year, raising money that is invested back into the community. “The mission of CVD has always been to support local non-profits and businesses,” says McBride. “CVD has strong community roots that continue to grow by encouraging literacy, health and education by bringing folks of all ages together for a safe, fun and entertaining experience.” This year, CVD will premiere a Science and Engineering Pavilion where local students can have the opportunity to display their science, technology and engineering talents.

CVD hours are Wednesday and Thursday, May 11 and 12, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, noon to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 15, noon to 8:00 p.m.
