The Pacific Mesothelioma Center event aims to bring awareness to mesothelioma and increase funding for its research.

AGOURA HILLS, CA – Lace up your hiking shoes, because Pacific Mesothelioma Center’s 7th Annual 5K Walk/Hike for Mesothelioma is happening in Agoura Hills this weekend. All ages and activity levels are welcome for the event that aims to bring awareness to mesothelioma and increase funding for its research.

The walk/hike will be this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Paramount Ranch, located at 2903 Cornell Road in Agoura Hills.

"Mesothelioma is an aggressive asbestos-related cancer diagnosed in an estimated 3,000 people each year in the United States," Cara Tompot, Communications Manager for The Mesothelioma Center told Patch. "Currently, there is no cure for the asbestos cancer, but recent medical advances have improved treatment options for those battling the rare disease. We hope this event will help continue that progress."
