Adidas Sends Former Agoura High Charger to Athletic Summit
Local trainer Ryan Capretta is one of five sports performance trainers sent to the Adidas headquarters in Germany.
Agoura native Ryan Capretta, Proactive Sports Performance founder and director, is one of five sports performance trainers, nationally, who were sent to the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, this week.
During the five-day summit during Oct. 8-12, Capretta will serve as a member on the Adidas strength and performance advisory board. Along with other performance coaches, Capretta will teach training techniques and philosophies to the elite apparel enterprise.
In 2005, Capretta founded Proactive Sports Performance, a sport performance training company in Westlake Village. With a new state-of-the-art facility, sponsored by Herbalife and Adidas, opening officially in November, Capretta's unique training will continue to be highlighted.

“We look forward to having Ryan come to our annual summit as a fresh voice in the strength and conditioning field. He is young and innovative specialist in such a competitive industry” said Lauren Anderson, Adidas’ partnership marketing liaison.
Capretta graduated from the class of 1995 from after having a successful career playing as a Charger on the football field. For the past few years, he and his staff, including renowned college strength coach Andy Campbell, have been working with different AHS sports teams, including football, boy’s and girl’s soccer and basketball.

“I got a lot of my roots from my days at Agoura, and one of my favorite parts of my business is being back on the field where it all began,” said Capretta.
With more than 10 years of professional industry experience, including four years in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and Super Bowl-winning Baltimore Ravens, as well as working at Stanford University, Capretta has a vast knowledge of the strength and conditioning field.
Unlike most cookie-cutter and factory-like training centers, Proactive Sports Performance specializes in individualized programs for different athletes. Capretta and his staff work with professional, collegiate, high school and youth athletes.
The diverse programs at Proactive Sports Performance have been featured on a variety of media outlets, including ESPN, The Jim Rome Show, KABC 7, KTLA 5, Yahoo Sports, Fox Sports. Capretta has served as a contributing strength specialist to Men's Health and Muscle & Fitness Magazines.
Clients of Proactive Sports Performance include Super Bowl champion and former charger Clay Matthews Jr, pro bowlers Antonio Cromartie, Terrell Suggs, Keith Bulluck and Dwight Freeney. Capretta is also the strength and conditioning coach for the Pepperdine University men's and women's basketball teams.
