Victims ID'ed In Apparent Murder-Suicide
One of the victims was a well-known Conejo Valley boutique owner.
AGOURA HILLS, CA — New details have been released about the death of Sherry Thomas, 49, and John Mann, 57, who were reportedly shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide in Agoura Hills Saturday.
The shooting was reported at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Thomas's home on the 5200 block of Colodny Drive, according to Deputy Maria Lucero of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
According to The Acorn, deputies responding to a call for a welfare check entered an Agoura Hills townhome at around 10:50 a.m. to find Thomas and Mann dead from gunshot wounds.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told The Acorn that since a gun was recovered at the scene and there are no outstanding suspects, murder-suicide is suspected.
They were both ID'ed by the L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office Sunday afternoon.

Thomas, a mother of two, was a personal stylist who owned Blush Boutique, a chain of clothing and accessories boutiques with locations in Encino, Calabasas, Hawthorne, and Sherman Oaks.
Thomas said that her goal was to create a “relaxed and stylish atmosphere for women who love to wear fantastic clothes at affordable prices.” According to The Acorn, Thomas was well-known in the community and donated to local schools and nonprofits.
“She was beautiful, kind-hearted, quick, smart as a whip, great with numbers,” a friend said. “You couldn’t beat her at backgammon. She was one of those people who had a zest for life.”
Mann, of Thousand Oaks, was a salesperson for John Deere who lost his daughter to cystic fibrosis. Thomas and Mann were reported to be in an on-again, off-again relationship, though the exact nature is unknown.
The event is still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau.
