Agoura Hills Hosts Monthly “At the Mayor’s Table
The public is invited to join Agoura Hills Mayor Linda Northup for coffee and conversation at a new monthly program.

A group of residents gathered at HATCH Café and Market for the first monthly “at the Mayor’s Table” morning coffee and conversation with Agoura Hills Mayor Linda Northrup to discuss local issues. Local business leaders were also present.
The informal setting was an opportunity for members of the community to get to know Mayor Northrup, hear updates about the city, learn about resources within the community, and discuss topics and concerns that matter to them. Among the many topics were traffic and safety, wildfires, burglaries, affordable housing, homelessness, and development. Northrup addressed each issue with the group, discussed reports and resources on topics and ways residents can be a key part in “achieving the very best for the community.”
The recent Woolsey Fire prompted a discussion on safety, evacuation and better landscaping techniques to protect the community from inevitable future fires. Northrup announced there will be an upcoming public workshop to share experiences and concerns important to being prepared for the next time the community faces a crises. “We can’t really return to a time before the rapid wall of fire we experienced last November,” she said.

The conversation also served as an ideas exchange for effective ways that residents can be involved: starting neighborhood safety groups, sharing surveillance videos, and reaching out to members of the community who might need help or public resources. “Discussion like this is how we can achieve the very best for our community,” Northrup said.
