NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTE: This meeting is being conducted utilizing video conferencing and electronic means consistent with the Governor’s State of California Executive Order N-29-20, dated March 17, 2020, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Details and access can be found at www.ci.agoura-hills.ca.us (“Planning Commission Agendas”). In accordance with Executive Order N-29-20, the public may only view the meeting online and/or by television; public attendance in the Council Chambers will not be permitted.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Agoura Hills has scheduled a Public Hearing for the purpose of taking testimony related to updates for the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Transportation Thresholds of Significance. Please see below for information on public participation.

DETERMINATION: This public hearing item has been determined to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the CEQA guidelines.

REVIEWING BODY: Planning Commission (by Video Conference)

DATE OF HEARING: Thursday, May 21, 2020

TIME OF HEARING: 6:30 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is for the Planning Commission to receive information on updating the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Transportation Thresholds of Significance pursuant to Senate Bill 743. State of California statutorily mandates that cities adopt Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) in place of Level of Service (LOS) as the metric for determining level of significance for CEQA by July 1, 2020.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: All interested parties are cordially invited to participate in this public hearing either by submitting written public comments by email or participating live by telephone. To submit written public comments, please include the “VMT Thresholds” in the subject line and email comments@ci.agoura-hills.ca.us by 4:00 p.m. on the meeting date and your comments will be distributed to the Planning Commission prior to the meeting. To participate live by telephone, please email your name and telephone number (including the area code) to comments@ci.agoura-hills.ca.us prior to the time the Chair closes the public comment period on the public hearing. City staff will call you at the appropriate time to receive your public testimony. Public testimony is limited to three (3) minutes per speaker. A speaker’s time may not be transferred to another speaker.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT State law requires the City to inform you that if you challenge the decision on this matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the Public Hearing described in this Notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Reviewing Body at or prior to the Public Hearing.
