Agoura Hills Residents Pack 350 Meals For Delivery
Last week 11 Agoura Hills residents met at the Event and Recreation Center to package meals for the city's vulnerable.
AGOURA HILLS, CA —Mayor Ilece Buckley Weber and Councilmembers Deborah Klein-Lopez and Linda Northrup joined nine other Agoura Hills residents last week to package and deliver 360 boxes of food to local seniors. This was the City’s first official meal packaging and delivery event.
Mask-clad volunteers met at the Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center to package meals in a six-feet-apart assembly line. The City purchased several plates of food from a local distributor, and meals were then delivered by Meals on Wheels and Chabad of the Conejo. Some of the meals were also donated to the Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank.
Assistant City Manager Nathan Hamburger said that the City is considering organizing another event if they can obtain the necessary food supplies. In the meantime, residents can visit https://www.ci.agoura-hills.ca.us/novel-coronavirus-information/volunteer-opportunities to find other ways to help out.
