Ally Barron has joined the Southeast Ventura County YMCA as its Director of Development. She brings over eight years of nonprofit experience, with a passion for youth development and education. Barron previously managed the SKECHERS Foundation, managing the corporate foundation and giving portfolio; while raising over $1.6 million for the multi-billion dollar company’s flagship charity event benefiting special needs children and education.

Before joining SKECHERS, Barron managed the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation Endowment Fund. Fundraising runs in Barron's blood, as her mother was a successful fundraiser for many years. "The opportunity to build relationships and partnerships to benefit those in need is what inspires me," says Barron.

Barron grew up in Oak Park. She received her B.A. from Arizona State University and got her master’s degree from USC in Public Administration. She says, "I'm thrilled to be working in a field I love, while being able to support the community I grew up in."
