Safe Clean Water L.A. is hosting a North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Community Meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Via Zoom.

Purpose: To explore how the North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Community (which includes Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, a small portion of Los Angeles City, and unincorporated Los Angeles County, Malibu, Topanga and Westlake Village) are working and can work towards safe, clean water.

Do you live in the Santa Monica Mountains or by the sea? Join us for the first North Santa Monica Bay Watershed Community meeting to learn about opportunities to source water locally and to improve water quality. This is your opportunity to connect with city and agency staff, local non-profits, local leadership, and our community to explore how all of us envision safe, clean water in Los Angeles County.

- Overview of a conceptual County of Los Angeles water quality improvement project in Viewridge Estates (Topanga Canyon).
- Presentation on how the Topanga Trash Warriors are cleaning up Topanga Canyon.
- Discussion about two County of Los Angeles water quality projects at Liberty Canyon in Agoura Hills.
- Review the restoration projects being created by the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains.
- Discussion by Watershed Coordinator Watts how Measure W and the Safe Clean Water Program are making it possible for water in Los Angeles to be safe and clean.
- Learn about using fog catchers (nets used to capture water droplets from fog and gravity to capture water) as a possible water source in the Santa Monica Mountains.
- A facilitated conversation about how we can increase both regional and hyper-local water supply and improve water quality.
