El Nino Weather Causes Rock Slides in Malibu, Agoura Hills, Damaging Cars

Two rock slides were reported Tuesday morning and 5 cars were damaged as a result.

Two rock slides were reported in Malibu and Agoura Hills on Tuesday morning, damaging several vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The first rock slide was reported at 8:04 a.m. where some boulders slid onto Malibu Canyon Road near the tunnel, about two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, the CHP reported.

Four vehicles were damaged in that slide, CHP officer Siara Lund said.

The second slide was reported shortly at 9 a.m. on Kanan Road and Troutdale Drive in Agoura Hills, Lund said. A Scion was damaged in that slide, she said.

Los Angeles County Roads are the scene to clear the roads, Lund said.

As of 10 a.m., both PCH and Kanon Road remained open.

And late Tuesday morning, both westbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were flooded near Mulholland Highway, near the western city limits, according to the city of Malibu.
