CALABASAS RIDGE "In search of ..." Join me and The Calabasas Day Hikers on a hike in search of fossils on Calabasas Ridge (Fossil Ridge). This sandstone ridge is thrust out of the earth almost vertically, very much like those rocks found in The Devil's Punchbowl area and will require us to negotiate very steep sections at times involving class 3 rock climbing (using your hands at times). So, even though this is a short hike of less than 4 miles, it will take time to negotiate this challenging terrain. If you're in good condition, not afraid of heights and love looking for fossils, this will be a fun event. There are caves to explore as well.
