Firefighters Used Crane to Rescue Agoura Hills Horse 'Stuck in the Mud' [UPDATE]
A disaster animal rescue team was called to the scene and relied on the help of a crane to free the horse.

AGOURA HILLS, CA - A 23-year-old horse that found itself trapped in a muddy spot in a residential backyard was rescued by county firefighters Monday.
The male equine was reported stuck at 4:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of Fairview Place, said Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Brian Jordan.

A disaster animal rescue team was called to the scene and relied on the help of a crane to free the horse, he said.
"The crane slowly and methodically lifted the horse out," Jordan said.

A veterinarian was also at the scene to treated a wounded leg, but it wasn't immediately clear if the horse would have to be transported to a medical facility, he said.
