Free Carnival Ride Tickets Offered Through Conejo Valley Days/RCS "Read & Ride" Program
Conejo Valley Days (CVD) is offering free carnival ride passes for students who take part in its "Read & Ride" literacy program.

For the second year, Conejo Valley Days (CVD) is offering free carnival ride passes for students who take part in its “Read & Ride” literacy program. CVD, in conjunction with carnival operator RCS, is encouraging kids in kindergarten through fifth grade to read by offering the ride passes for this year’s festival (May 11 through 15 at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oaks).
The rules are simple. Children must read three books approved by their teacher and their parent, write a brief summary of each book on a Read & Ride form, have his or her parent and teacher sign the completed form and bring it to the RCS information booth inside the CVD site to receive a pass good for three free rides. Kindergarten-age kids can draw pictures about their books on the back of the form.
“Read & Ride” is approved by the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Homeschoolers and libraries can also take part in the program.

Participating schools must display a 3’ x 5’ Conejo Valley Days “Ready & Ride” banner at the school entrance from April 15 through May 15 and return the banner in good shape after CVD is over. In return, the school PTA will receive a $100 donation from CVD.
A separate banner-only promotion is available for middle schools, high schools and other nonprofit organizations.
