The Best Steak Sandwich Ever
The Old Place serves up the ultimate steak sandwich, and this week's video shows how to make it.
On this week's The Craving, I was on the hunt for the perfect steak sandwich. I decided there's no better spot than which has been serving its signature steaks since 1969 when Tom Runyon and his wife opened their little restaurant.
The Old Place is now run by their son, Morgan Runyon. Their speciality steak and clams are still on the menu, but they with more options. The secret to the juicy steaks? They chop their own wood and cook 90 percent of their menu on the grill.
Keeping to local tradition, chef Oscar Ledesma uses all local products, including meats, vegetables and even homemade bread from Stoneground Bakery. Their steak sandwich–offered on the lunch menu–served with a homemade blue cheese aioli, grilled onions and blue cheese crumbles, is the best steak sandwich I have ever had.
