LA County Sheriff's Department Dog Died In Hot Car: Lawsuit

LOS ANGELES, CA — A new lawsuit claims a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department dog died after being left in a hot car for hours and a lieutenant who raised questions about the death and other issues in the department alleges he was retaliated against, ABC7 reported.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Lt. Joseph Garrido said that after he filed a lawsuit concerning Spike’s death and other alleged issues in the department, he faced withholding of pay and other retaliation, ABC7 reported.

According to the ABC7 report, Lt. Garrido’s suit also raises questions about millions of dollars in hazard pay that he claims the department owes members of the Special Enforcement Bureau.

According to the outlet, Lt. Garrido is still employed by the department but has not returned to work.
