A local center that attracts both the sports-minded and the fun-goer is named for Agoura Hills, but also neighboring Calabasas.
When is a city of Agoura Hills facility not actually a city facility? When it is a technicality.
At 27040 Malibu Hills Rd., Agoura Hills, the is officially in the city of Calabasas. However, given its name and "borderline" location, the state-of-the-art recreation center draws its membership from Agoura Hills as much as it does from Calabasas.
Opened in late 1999, the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center is a joint venture of the city of Agoura Hills and the city of Calabasas. Located off Agoura Road, between Liberty Canyon Road in Agoura Hills and Lost Hills Road in Calabasas Hills, the contemporary building boasts an avant-garde arch over its entry.
