Let's Get It Straight: The Hideaway Restaurant

Three months later than planned, Lindero Canyon Country Club's anticipated eatery is open for business.

Back in May, the former Lindero Canyon Country Club employee Jeff Hunt told Patch that a new restaurant was opening up in the space behind the lap pool, and so we waited, and waited.

The sign prominently displayed on Thousand Oaks Boulevard—"The Hideaway @ Lindero. Open to the Public. Restaurant, Bar, Patio, Poolside"—gave us hope. It sounded like a great spot for summer al-fresco dining, which in Agoura Hills is all year round. But a new general manager and chef, both with a passion for their cuisine and attention to detail, meant the wait would be a bit longer. Until now, that is.

Patch is here to set things straight about Agoura's newest unique dining experience.

What is The Hideaway?

The Hideaway represents a new approach for the Lindero Country Club. In the past, the private club met the needs of their golf or swim guests by focusing on casual food and drinks. With The Hideaway, Lindero aspires to become "a destination experience," with emphasis on its "unique" and "creative" menu, along with a variety of comfortable seating arrangements—the patio with misters and two flat-screen televisions, a courtyard with a fountain, and the poolside cabanas.

What type of food can we expect?

Highlights of the lunch menu include a selection of grilled and cold sandwiches, soups and salads, pastas, and chilled seafood. A majority of the ingredients come from the local region's Underwood Farms. The highlight of The Hideaway is the wood burning oven. Wood-fired pizzas, Blue Crab corn pancakes, Yellow Fin Tuna, salmon filet, pork chops, and steak are all options for dinner.

So, it's finally open?

Located at 5719 Lake Lindero Dr., The Hideaway celebrated its Grand Opening on Friday, Aug. 12, and is now open to the public every day for lunch and dinner. Their hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Reservations are not required, however they are accepted by calling 818-735 -3530.
