"A Lifetime Passion" Opens to Public
Art patrons from Hollywood and beyond attend opening of Agoura Hills's 2019 Art Gallery Series Solo Artist Show, "A Lifetime Passion".
Art patrons came from Hollywood and beyond to attend opening night of Agoura Hills’s 2019 Art Gallery Series Solo Artist Show, "A Lifetime Passion" featuring fine art painter Scott Lindner. Lindner’s paintings have been part of exhibitions at the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles, MONA in London and the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.
At the opening reception, the artist fielded many questions about his innovative painting technique that uses pure mineral pigments mixed into acrylic resin that captures his passion for horses in hauntingly beautiful imagery. “I grew up in Ohio and my aunt and uncle had a farm with horses where I spent as much time as I could with them,” said Lindner. He has been painting and studying with renown artists since his teens and his student works were included in exhibitions at Youngstown State University and the Butler Institute of American Art where he also won significant awards. His current resin painting technique has earned him a finalist spot in the 2019 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship Competition.
"A Lifetime Passion" exhibit displays his most recent works, many which has been featured in Dwell Magazine, LA Design Magazine, 805 Living, and Hidden Hills Magazine. Also on view are his contemporary Native American portraitures created on sanded paper and inspired by Lindner’s passion for the work of Edward S. Curtis who authentically photographed Native American culture in the early 1900s.
