LightGabler Attorney Karen Gabler To Speak on Leave of Absences Strategies

California has more mandatory leaves of absence and rules about vacation, sick leave and paid time off than any other state.

Employment law attorney Karen L. Gabler with the LightGabler law firm will be speaking on “Employing the Absent Employee: Handling California's Leave of Absence and Paid Time Off Laws” at the May 18 meeting of the San Fernando Valley Employer Advisory Council (EAC).

California has more mandatory leaves of absence and rules about vacation, sick leave and paid time off than any other state. To avoid costly litigation, employers must be aware of when a leave is available to an employee, what rights must be provided to the employee, and what employee obligations can be enforced. Employers also must be familiar with the applicable sick leave rules, vacation requirements and how to apply paid time off to absences.

In this informative seminar for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, Gabler will discuss California's numerous leave of absence laws, paid time off, sick leave, vacation and related benefits and obligations.
