Local YMCAs Donate 750 Pounds of Food To Manna
YMCAs in the Conejo and Simi valleys donated 750 pounds of food to Manna, the Conejo Valley food bank.

YMCAs in the Conejo and Simi valleys donated 750 pounds of food to Manna, the Conejo Valley Food Bank, the Monday before Thanksgiving. All Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches collected food as part of their “A Month of Giving” food drive.
Kids who attend YMCA childcare programs were big donors. “It’s wonderful to see kids helping kids,” says Chrissy Withers, senior program director at the Triunfo YMCA. “We made sure that our childcare kids understood how their donation helped those who are less fortunate. It brought home the spirit of Thanksgiving.”
More than 15,000 Conejo Valley households struggle to feed their families and one in four children go to bed hungry, according to Manna. For more information on how to donate food, go to www.mannaconejo.org.
