Man Killed, 2 Critically Hurt In Agoura Hills Crash

One man was killed and two others are in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Agoura Hills​.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — A man was killed instantly and two other people are in critical condition after a truck veered into an embankment off of a freeway in Agoura Hills Friday.

The crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. on the westbound Ventura (101) Freeway at Chesebro Road, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman.

A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was driving at an unknown speed when "for undetermined reasons the Chevrolet left the roadway and collided with the metal guard rail," according to a California Highway Patrol statement.

"After the impact, the Chevrolet continued on and eventually collided with the Chesebro Road concrete overcrossing," the statement said.

One passenger died at the scene, and the man who was driving and another passenger were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to the CHP.

The westbound No. 3 and 4 lanes were closed while an investigation was conducted, and the closure was continuing more than five hours afterward, the CHP reported.
