March 18 is Summer Camp Sign Up Day for Triunfo YMCA

The Triunfo YMCA (serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park) will be holding a summer camp sign-up day Saturday, March 18 at Sumac Park (6000 Calmfield Ave., Agoura). Sign-ups take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Families who register between now through March 18 will lock in last year’s camp rates.

Triunfo YMCA summer camp is for campers entering grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Counselor-in-Training programs are available for teens in ninth and tenth grade. Camp runs from June 19 through August 18 and is held at the Y’s after school facility at Sumac Elementary School in Agoura. Parents can sign up their kids by the week, full time (four to five days a week) or part time (one to three days).

Camp activities are based on age group: kindergarten and first grade, second and third grade, fourth and fifth grade and teen camp for sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Day camp includes swimming, games, field trips and exploring and appreciating the outdoors. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. with extended care starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.

“YMCA camp is the best way for kids to enjoy summer,” says Chrissy Withers, Triunfo YMCA associate executive director. “Our camp focuses on personal growth, self-respect, character building, and of course, having fun.”
