Medea Creek Cleanup Planned For Sept. 26

The annual creek cleanup will be socially distanced at three different locations, and feature State Senator Henry Stern.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Every year, trash builds up around the Medea Creek in Agoura Hills, which is problematic because it flows into a larger drinking water system. That's why for the past 22 years, Agourans have come together every September to clean it up.

2020 has canceled many beloved traditions, but a socially-distanced Creek Clean Up is still planned to take place Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in three different groups. A maximum of 10-12 people will meet at three different locations — the Old Agoura Park parking lot, the Chumash Park ballfield, and the Morrison Ranch Greenbelt — to clean up different spots around the creek.

This year, the office of State Senator Henry Stern is helping to organize the cleanup, and Senator Stern will also attend. Agoura Hills Mayor Illece Buckley Weber will also attend, like she has for the past several years.
