Former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl champion Chris Thomas will hold a football clinic Sunday, November 1 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newbury Park High School stadium (456 N. Reino Rd., Newbury Park). The event is sponsored by the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park.
Thomas, a Newbury Park resident, played eight years in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. He went to the Super Bowl twice—once with the San Diego Chargers and again with the St. Louis Rams when the team won the championship in 1999. Thomas runs a private, specialized football program called Fusion Football Odyssey that has helped dozens of young football players go on to play at the college level, many with scholarships.
Thomas is also a sought-after motivational speaker on such topics as success, fortitude, perseverance and the mind as it relates to sports, interpreting success against failure, spirituality and purpose in life.
