New Summer T-Ball/Coach Pitch League at Miller YMCA

The Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park is introducing a new T-Ball-Coach Pitch League for the summer. The league is for kids three to eight years of age and is designed for first time ball players or those looking to sharpen their skills over the summer. Practices start June 23 with league play beginning on July 11.

Participants ages three and four will play t-ball while older ages will play a combination of coach pitch and t-ball. Age brackets are 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. “There are no bench warmers in Y sports,” says Katie Beck, the Miller Y’s executive director. ”Our leagues focus on skill building, fun and making new friends.”

Games take place on Saturday mornings and practices are Tuesdays between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Games and practices are held at Cypress Elementary School in Newbury Park. Registration is underway. The cost is $80 for full YMCA members and $90 for program members (plus a $40 program membership if needed) when registering on or before June 20. The cost increases by $15 after June 20. Registration includes a team t-shirt, hat and trophy.
