NFL Rams Serve as Grand Marshal of Reyes Adobe Days

The city of Agoura Hills announces the highlights of this year's Reyes Adobe Days festival coming October 11- 14, 2018.

The city of Agoura Hills is pleased to announce the highlights of the 14th Annual Reyes Adobe Days festival (RAD), coming October 11 – 14, 2018. Centered at the city’s landmark Reyes Adobe Historical Site, the four-day festival is hosted by the city and offers cultural entertainment for all ages: Day at the Adobe free family weekend festival; Senior Fiesta; Night at the Adobe art event with local beer and wine tasting; community RAD parade, and 10K & 10-mile RAD Runs.

Serving as celebrity Grand Marshal is one of Agoura Hills’s star residents, the Los Angeles Rams. In 2016, the NFL team returned to Los Angeles from St. Louis, Missouri and selected Agoura Hills as the location for its headquarters. Los Angeles-based HKS Architects that provided design services for the new headquarters stated, “Agoura Hills was the location that authentically displays the team’s core values to both employees and visitors.” Representatives of the Rams organization will participate in select activities and serve as Grand Marshal in the Reyes Adobe Days parade that kicks off the weekend festival on Saturday, October 13.

The city of Agoura Hills is also pleased to announce that Title Sponsor for 2018 RAD is the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD), which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with the public at the festival. “We’ve spent this year recognizing our partners, and Reyes Adobe Days provided us the ideal opportunity to invite customers throughout the district to celebrate with us as a community,” said LVMWD Public Affairs and Communications Manager Mike McNutt, adding that October was the official inception month for the district. In addition to its popular, water-wise activity booth at the weekend family festival, LVMWD will have commemorative giveaways and specialty items related to the daily events. LVMWD representatives, including its mascot Little Drop, along with an anniversary float in the RAD parade, are all part of the 60th anniversary celebration.

Local art is being featured by a community-spirited, interactive photography exhibit spotlighting California culture with creative and fun photo activities, including selfie stations throughout the festival. The Night at the Adobe opening art reception is an adult-only, sneak preview of the gallery in the historic barn while enjoying local wine, beer, signature snacks, LVMWD anniversary cupcakes and entertainment under the stars. For younger photo enthusiasts, an image scavenger hunt is part of the weekend family festival.

The Day at the Adobe free family festival will have new activities and entertainment in addition to the many returning popular attractions and historical demonstrations. Pottery and nature-related crafts are new rancho-themed activities along with the traditional pony rides, train rides, petting zoo, blacksmith, and drum circle among the many attractions. Music and cultural performance stages offer a wide range of live entertainment with the Long Run--tribute to the Eagles headlining on Sunday afternoon. The public can discover locally-crafted beer, wine and artisan wares in “The Farmhouse” tent, and food trucks will provide fun festival eats including BBQ, tacos, grilled cheese, and sweets.
