Parking Lot Success

Focused on providing moments of opportunities for teens and families within their community, Powered by Youth Foundation, Inc. is working to create those experiences through a combined effort of events that focus on giving back to the community.

The mission at the Powered By Youth Foundation, Inc. is to develop opportunities for Teens that allow them to experience creative environments while positively impacting their peer, Family & Community relationships. They strive to empower teens with resources conducive to enhanced real life experiences, as well as incorporate a pay it forward mentality in the execution of their many outreach programs.

The PBY Foundation put on a GIANT parking lot sale on Saturday, July 27th at Agoura High School. Many donations were made and by the end of the day the parking lot was nearly wiped clean due to the enormous amount of purchases that took place.

In the early hours of the night, customers began showing up during mid-setup around 1am and placed pre-order submissions for certain items. Before the sun had even risen, customers were non-stop shopping through the night.

Throughout the entire day, customers were commenting on the quality of items and the amount of product they were able to browse through.

The Junior Ambassadors, a PBY program created for middle school aged youth, were given their own special section during the event and all the money that they raised went directly into supporting their program. With their success of this event, the Junior Ambassador program will expand and create a stronger presence within the community.

Throughout the entire day, local partners Jamba Juice and Jersey Mikes were on site with food and drinks. A portion of all their proceeds went directly back to the Foundation and its programs.

A live DJ was on set to create a fun environment for customers to shop. Not only did the community members love the music, but also were moving their feet to the beat.

Hundreds of community members showed up and many contributions were made. Many of the items that did not sell were re-donated to two special organizations. The first was to one community member who assists in sending clothing to impoverished countries where children and adults often go years with the same pair of shoes, pants and shirts. After gaining knowledge of what she hopes to accomplish, PBY agreed to be an annual contributor to her Foundation. PBY was also able to deliver a 26 foot U-Haul full of furniture, electronics, household items and more to the local Goodwill organization.

The customers were constantly smiling due to the enormous energy of the teens and the welcoming smiles of all the staff.

The PBY teen staff has a strong, growing passion to positively influence their peers, attain working knowledge of today’s business challenges, and tremendously impact their community.

PBY is not only a foundation, it’s a family.

Join PBY as we implement a new movement that strives to improve the future of teens, families and communities.
