Patch Editor: 'My Father Was Friends With Gaddafi'

My esteemed colleague Craig Clough tells of his father's association with a young Muammar Gaddafi.

This Sept. 11, North Hollywood-Toluca Lake Patch Editor Craig Clough posted a piece about his father's friendship with former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi as a young man.

Given Thursday's reports of Gaddafi's death on CNN and other news agencies, Clough is rerunning the column, wherein he shares things about the former dictator that his father didn't feel comfortable speaking about while Gaddafi was in power.

Clough tells how his father, stationed with the United States Air Force at Wheelus Air Base—now Mitiga International Airport—in Libya, became friends with Gaddafi when he was a junior officer.
