Photo Gallery: Trader Joe's Grand Opening

The specialty grocery story opens to welcoming crowds at the Shops at Oak Creek in Agoura Hills.

A five-piece band played Hawaiian tunes as hula skirt-clad girls greeted customers at Trader Joe's grand opening in Agoura Hills on Friday. Doors opened at 8 a.m. and by 8:08 a.m., hundreds of customers had begun to jam the aisles.

Gorgeous hand-painted panels greeted patrons as they entered the store, including a 40-foot mural of Ladyface Mountain. With a lot size of 12,500 square feet, Trader Joe's will serve as the most easterly building of the Shops at Oak Creek.

"We're the closest store to Malibu and hope to bring in people from Calabasas," said store manager or "captain" Tim Martin. "We very much want to become part of the Agoura Hills community."
