The Agoura Hills Public Library is offering a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration as part of the 'Read Across America' program.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to take up The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.

As part of the celebration, the local elementary schools will have their own respective activities and the is offering a party on Saturday at 2 p.m. The community is invited to a fun-filled afternoon with the zany Nicole Tibbetts telling her favorite Dr. Seuss stories. 'Green Eggs and Ham' will be served along with other “Seussy” refreshments. Dr. Seuss activities will also be part of the program.
