Police Charge Agoura Doctor for Alleged Drug Distribution Scheme
Police say Terry Stanger is charged on 15 felony counts and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 19.

The Ventura County Combined Agency Taskforce and the Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit have recently concluded an investigation of several years into Terry Stanger, an Agoura Hills doctor, according to a Ventura County Combined Agency Taskforce news release.
"A criminal case was presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office which alleged over prescribing of opiate, anti-depressant, and other controlled medications absent a legitimate medical purpose from his Ventura Office, as well as violations of money laundering statutes," states the news release.
The news release continues to say that "detectives seized over 25,000 pills of highly addictive medication that were sold or destined for sale outside the scope of normal professional practice."
The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint charging the doctor with 15 felony counts. Stanger is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 19, according to the news release.
