Quieting the Sheaths of The Body

The quietness of forward bending asanas is a gift for all of us who live in the city. This is a time for inward reflection, quieting the nervous system, and self study. The sequence of forward bends brings us to this state. Nourshing for the organs and nervous system, a perfect afternoon practice.
The physical and mental sheaths will then be prepared for yogic breathing.
Christine Stein is a certified Iyengar teacher. Every year since 1990, Chris has been studying in India with the Iyengar family. Chris's teaching is based on the understanding that 'asana and pranayama practice has to entail, not just the physical body, but as we mature in our practice, it truly becomes meditation in action.'
