Reyes Adobe Days Exhibit Features Community-Spirited Art

Reyes Adobe Days returns with a popular, interactive art exhibit featuring photography and fun crafts for all ages.

The City of Agoura Hill and CReATE STUDIO of Westlake Village are planning an interactive, community-spirited art exhibition at Reyes Adobe Days, taking place in Agoura Hills, October 11 -14. “With the success of last year’s art gallery where attendees created rather than viewed art, we are expanding the concept throughout the festival,” said Agoura Hills Recreation Supervisor Nick Newkirk.

The exhibition “Day in the Life” will focus on photography-theme activities where the public can take Polaroids at fun and creative stations and submit them for community display. Attendees can also post images through social media hash tags from “selfie” stations located throughout the grounds. For kids, an image scavenger hunt will join the traditional rancho-theme hunt during the Day at the Adobe free weekend family festival.

CReATE STUDIO will turn the Reyes Adobe Historical Site’s barn into an art studio where all ages can participate in craft activities that repurpose everyday things and recyclables into fun art projects. “We are all about creative exploration and engaging in the ongoing effort to lighten our carbon footprint along the way,” said CReATE STDIO owner Jemma Wildermuth, who also founded the non-profit organization, CReATE ON YOUR CAMPUS, providing schools with similar reuse sensibilities that recycles campus materials for use in creative and curriculum-based ways.
