Rock The Recovery's Calif. Strong Benefit Concert - August 4

Rock the Recovery, featuring music by popular local bands, will raise money for California Strong and its disaster recover efforts.

Rock the Recovery, featuring musical performances by popular local bands, will raise money for California Strong, the nonprofit organization that is helping those affected by tragedies such as the Borderline Shooting in Thousand Oaks and the Camp, Woolsey and Hill Fires. Rock The Recovery is Sunday, August 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at The Canyon Club (28912 Roadside Dr., Agoura Hills). The event's main sponsor is Cydcor, headquartered in Agoura Hills

Rock the Recovery was founded by Westlake High School senior Ava Flora Friedman who created the event to help facilitate unity and healing in the local community.

"Nothing brings people together quite like music," says Friedman. "It has that unique power that unites us in a special way. This past year with the fires that devastated communities in California as well as our own tragedies in our hometown of Thousand Oaks at the Borderline Bar and Grill, a night of music is needed, Rock The Recovery is proud to partner with California Strong."

“California Strong has raised more than $2 million dollars thus far and is dedicated to continue to raise funds and support disaster relief going forward,” says Danielle Stone, executive director California Strong

“Money raised for Rock The Recovery will support California Strong so we can continue to serve with financial assistance when future disaster or tragedy strikes. As a community, we have learned the importance of giving back and know we need to stand ready to assist the moment critical funds are needed to help our neighbors."
