Beautiful Shey is in need of someone that is experienced with German Shepherds. She was relinquished to the shelter because she acted in a way that is typical of the breed, being too protective of the children in her family.
She is a 5-year-old that is energetic and fun loving and is loyal to her people. She is smart, and trainable, but needs someone that is willing to teach her limits. She is a watchdog breed and unless someone teaches her that it's not her job to do the protecting, it is what she will do. If you have some experience with German Shepherds and can teach her that you are the leader and she doesn’t need to be protective, please stop by the shelter to meet her.

Shey is not reacting well to being kenneled, but when she is spending time in one of the play yards with attention from a volunteer she relaxes to the point of falling asleep near the volunteer’s feet.
She needs a home that has an area where she can run and exercise and play. She needs to be adopted soon so she doesn’t experience kennel deterioration.
