Southeast Ventura County YMCA Reaches $200,000 Fundraising Goal

The funds will be used to ensure local YMCA programs and memberships are available to those in financial need and to enhance YMCA programs.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA raised more than $200,000 to support YMCA programs during its annual fundraising campaign that ended March 22. The funds will be used to ensure local YMCA programs and memberships are available to those in financial need and to enhance YMCA youth and adult programs.

“We hold one major fundraiser a year. The Y is very grateful for those who donated,” says Ronnie Stone, president and CEO of the Y. “With rising costs on just about everything, people still were able to give.”

YMCA offers its Find My Genius five-week summer program to low-to-moderate-income students identified by their teachers as those who could benefit from continued academic learning and social growth during the summer. The Y’s Safety Around Water summer program teaches children the basics of water safety. “The Y can provide these programs free to participants because of donations from individuals and businesses in the community,” says Stone.
