Support Your Local Schools At This Agoura Hills Carnival
Finally, they found a way for drinking beer to improve your kids' education.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools will host their annual carnival Friday through Sunday, with classic carnival games for the kids and a new beer garden for adults.
The annual carnival, held in Whizin Market Square, will benefit schools in the Las Virgenes Unified School District. A portion of the money raised will go towards supporting programs like high school arts and athletics, class size reduction and mental and academic support, according to the foundation's website.
Every year, this carnival attracts between 10,000 and 15,000 guests. This year will be no different, as ride ticket sales are already up, said Allison Geld, administrator for the foundation. The event itself is free.

Foundation president Mark Madnick said that the foundation's work is meant to "fill the gap" between programs that matter to the community and what state provides funding for.
People are itching for safe and fun social events after so much was cancelled due to the pandemic, Geld said, including last year's carnival.

"I think people are just ready to get out and do something. We are all sick of being cooped up. We all want to have that connection with neighbors and with our friends, and our kids want to have that connection with their friends," Geld said.
This year, the carnival will feature a beer and wine garden, which Geld said has been a dream for years. It became a reality this year when Agoura Wine & Beer Co. opened up shop in Whizin Market Square.
Madnick said loves bringing his kids to the fair because it is a fun and safe community event with a greater purpose.
The carnival will run from 6-11 p.m. on Friday, 12-11 p.m. on Saturday and 12-9 p.m. on Sunday.
