Tasty Tidbits: Karen Young's Valley Restaurant and Food Round Up

Vegans Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, along with other investors, including singer Chrissie Hynde and producer Steve Bing, have plans to open a vegan restaurant in the Bokado space on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City.  Oprah endorsed chef, Tal Ronnen, is said to be creating the menu. No word yet when the change will happen. Stay tuned.

Louises Trattoria in Studio City has closed and will be replaced by Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, a San Diego based company.

Woodland Hills Wine has scored some bottles of 2007 Sand Hill Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Durell Vineyard $27.95 ($50 list) each or $24.95 with purchase of 4 bottles or more (enter promo code: SANDHILL).  This small production wine only produced a few hundred cases and was recently featured in the Wall St. Journal's "2011 WSJ Wine Luxury Dozen."
