Thousand Oaks Gelson's Hosts 'Paw Works' Adoption Day

To help dogs find forever homes, a local grocer will give Thousand Oaks residents the opportunity to adopt a new furry friend.

THOUSAND OAKS, CA — A local grocery store in Thousand Oaks is hosting an event to help dogs and cats find forever homes.

Gelson's grocery is hosting a free pet adoption event across nine of its Southern California locations, including the store in Thousand Oaks, on Saturday.

The store, located at 1736 E Avenida De Los Arboles, is hosting Ventura-based shelter Paw Works. On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the foundation will bring pets that need homes to the store for shoppers to meet.

"Gelson’s loves animals and we work with nearly a dozen of pet rescue groups throughout various store locations," the store wrote in a release. "If you have the interest to adopt and add a furry member to the family, please come out!"

Paw Works has saved more than 8,500 dogs and cats since 2014. Learn more about the shelter here.
