Triunfo YMCA Offers Soccer & Flag Football Training This Summer

Kids will have a chance to improve their soccer and flag football skills beginning in June at Triunfo YMCA sports clinics and camps.

For little ones just starting their soccer experience, the Triunfo Y is holding an “Itty Bitty Soccer Clinic” from June 15 to July 15. Children age three and four will learn basic skills and the essentials of teamwork in a fun and noncompetitive atmosphere. Practices are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Chumash Park (5550 Medea Valley Dr., Agoura Hills). The cost is $40 plus a $40 fee if not already a program member

For older kids (kindergarten through eighth grade), the Triunfo YMCA is holding two- week co-ed sports camps. The first is a flag football camp July 18 through 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at Chumash Park. The second is soccer camp August 1 through 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays also at Chumash Park.

Both camps stress skill development, having fun and making friends. Every child plays and learns the basics of the sport, teamwork and new skills through activities and drills. The camps include time at the camp pool. Grade groupings are kindergarten/first grade, second/third grade, fourth/fifth grade and six through eighth grade.

Sport camps are $100 per week (plus a $40 fee if not already a program member) and includes a t-shirt and YMCA water bottle. Extended care is available at Willow Elementary School from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. plus a field trip from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays ($100 per week). YMCA buses provide transportation for childcare participants from camp to Willow Elementary School.
