Triunfo YMCA Summer Campers Learn About Money

Kindergartners and first graders received an introduction to money and savings at Triunfo YMCA summer camp.

Kindergartners and first graders received an introduction to money and savings at Triunfo YMCA summer camp. Representatives from the Westlake Village Private Client Services office of City National Bank dropped by to give them a quick course in financial literacy.

City National Bank employees Amanda Gottfried and Lorraine Crawford provided the campers with interactive examples about ways to save money. “Teaching young children basic banking and simple money management skills is crucial to building a foundation for future success,” says Gottfried. “Children who learn how to save money and manage their finances are more likely to grow into wise and responsible consumers. Plus, the lesson plans are a simple and a fun way to learn about money and banking.”

Over 150 kids attended Triunfo YMCA summer camp this year. Not only did they take part in traditional camp activities but also nontraditional camp events such as a food drive for Manna, Conejo Valley’s food bank and a field trip to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sherriff’s Department to thank officers for keeping the community safe.
