Two-Alarm Brush Fire Scorches 12 Acres In Agoura Hills

AGOURA HILLS, CA — A two-alarm brush fire is burning in Agoura Hills.

Nearly 200 firefighters from Los Angeles and Ventura county fire departments have been called into to fight the 12-acre blaze near the southbound 101 Freeway at Chesebro Road.

The fire started around 2:45 as a three-acre fire. When it began expanding, LA County firefighters upgraded it to a two-alarm fire and requested backup from an LAFD helicopter and Ventura County Fire. As of 3:30, LA County Fire reported that no structures have been threatened.

As of 4:20 Friday, LA County Fire reported that the blaze is 50 percent contained, and forward progress has stopped.
