Westlake Village Rotary Clubs Donate $20,000 to 20 Local Nonprofits

The Rotary Club of Westlake Village and the Westlake Village Sunrise Rotary handed out $20,000 to 20 local nonprofit organizations during the clubs' “Evening of Giving” on April 20 in Thousand Oaks. Each nonprofit received $1,000.

The $20,000 was raised from the two clubs’ Holidays In The Village, a European-style winter festival that takes place every December in Westlake Village. “The goal of every Rotary event is to distribute all net proceeds to nonprofits in the community,” says Mike Dutra, Westlake Village Rotary Club president. “It takes a lot of volunteer hours to put on a great event. It’s worth the effort knowing that you’ll be helping those in need.”

Organizations receiving donations at the Evening of Giving were: Art Trek, Laps for Life, Conejo Free Clinic, Riley’s Rescue, Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, Coalition for Family Harmony, Senior Concerns-Meals on Wheels Program, My Stuff Bags, TEACh, Safe Passage, Harbor House, The Turner Foundation, The Morrison Park Project, Disaster Communications, KCLU, Southeast Ventura County YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Conejo Valley, Many Mansions, Westminster Free Clinic and Ride-On Therapeutics.

The Rotary Club of Westlake Village is continuing its commitment to helping local nonprofits with a second major fundraiser this year, Wild Oaks Country Music Festival, on June 3, 2023 in Thousand Oaks. This year’s Wild Oaks Festival pays particular attention to our military veterans, first responders and human trafficking prevention. All Rotary clubs work tirelessly to improve lives and change the world for the better.
