Where Agoura Hills Residents Can Take Extra Meds
Unused and expired pharmaceuticals are dangerous to keep at home, but they're also harmful to the environment if they are flushed.

The The Las Virgenes - Triunfo Joint Powers Authority, comprised of Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and Triunfo Sanitation District, is encouraging customers to dispose of unused and expired pharmaceutical materials on “National Take Back Day,” Saturday, Sept. 27 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Collection bins will be available at the Lost Hills Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station at 27050 Agoura Road in Agoura or at the Ventura County Sheriff’s East Valley Station at 2101 E. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

“Unused and expired pharmaceuticals are dangerous to keep at home, but they’re also harmful to the environment if they are flushed down the drain,” said David W. Pedersen, Administering Agent / General Manager for the JPA. “The collection event is an opportunity to clean out medicine cabinets and dispose of these items in a responsible manner.”
The Las Virgenes – Triunfo JPA provides wastewater treatment, recycled water service and biosolids composting for residents of Western Los Angeles and Eastern Ventura Counties.
